Civil rights hero Rep. John Lewis said over the weekend that Trump’s presidency is an illegitimate one, remarking that: “I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton.”

At least 26 U.S. representative s are joining Lewis in sitting out January 20th. Here’s a list of the brave politicians refusing to sit by and watch Trump’s inauguration:

  1. Luis Gutierrez – Illinois:

“I could not look my wife, my daughters, or my grandson in the eye if I sat there and attended, as if everything that the candidate said about the women, the Latinos, the blacks, the Muslims, or any of those other things he said in those speeches and tweets, and that all of that is okay or erased from our collective memory.”

  1. Katherine Clark – Massachusetts:

“Families in my district are fearful that the anti-woman, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, and divisive promises that drove the Trump campaign will become the policies affecting the health and safety of every American. I do not feel that I can contribute to the normalization of the President-elect’s divisive rhetoric by participating in the Inauguration.”

  1. Jared Huffman – California:

“the way to defeat his dark political agenda is not to sit around complaining and criticizing; it is through active citizenship, principled resistance and positive counteraction.”

  1. Earl Blumenauer – Oregon:

“I will forgo the inauguration, spending the day instead in my district talking with Oregonians to hear their priorities, try to answer their questions, and prepare for the coming assault on the values and programs we hold dear. It is hard to think of a better use of my time on January 20th.”

  3. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was
wondering what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming
having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or
advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

  4. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.

There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched
her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this
is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
