Major Government Agencies Just Joined the Trump Resistance! Their Efforts Are Impressive

Early this week, Donald Trump ordered that all federal agencies stop all public communication of any kind, after he got what he considered to be some bad publicity on an official government Twitter account.

But now, the National Parks Service has created an alternate account on Twitter, literally called @AltNatParkSer. The account is made by Parks Service employees – who promise to continue publishing facts about climate change and resisting Trump.

Here’s what the officials had to say:

  • “Here’s the DL on the National Park Service. Most of us are in the job for one reason. We LOVE our outdoors. It IS the greatest.
  • To understand what’s best for our parks, we need to have access to US science data on climate & the environment. We must not be silenced.
  • “Climate change is fundamentally the greatest threat to the integrity of our national parks that we’ve experienced.”

Of course, Trump has said that global warming is “bullshit,” and referred to it as a conspiracy created by China.

The Badlands National Park ignored Trump’s gag order hours after he announced it; not long after, the Golden Gate National Park joined in.

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area account tweeted about global temperature increases between 1850 and 2016.

Great job, government workers! Please protect our democracy!
